With JRoc’s 8th grade (wasn’t he JUST preparing for kindergarten??) off to an awesome start and a whole slew of new and exciting projects and events scheduled for my business as well as my Girl Plus Food and Ninja Mom Diaries blogs, I’m so happy to welcome September on such a positive note!
And it’s always nice receiving a shipment from Hormel Foods because it’s like a little surprise present knowing there are yummies inside!
Contents: Skippy Natural Singles Creamy, Peanut Butter Spread… Muscle Milk in Strawberries and Cream… Chi-Chi’s Mild Thick and Chunky Salsa… Hormel Chili with Beans (like my kid’s butt needs this type of encouragement)… Wholly Guacamole, Classic Dip… Compleats, Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal… and coupons for even more Hormel products. 😀
The shipment arrived in the morning while J had already started school, and because I totally neglected to feed myself and was beginning to feel grumpy, I grabbed the bottle of Muscle Milk for a quick dose of protein.
I’ve never had this stuff before. I checked out their website and saw that it helps to train harder, dominate, and conquer… WOW. Being that my only physical activity is… hula hooping, I figured this would be more than enough to get me through the morning. Then I caught the bit that read “also used as a meal replacement or a protein-rich snack.” Ahhh… that’s more fitting for my life.
It was pretty good. I’m usually not a fan of strawberry-cream flavored beverages (unless I make it myself) because it usually leaves an icky, artificial flavoring/coloring taste in my mouth, but this wasn’t so bad. The drink controlled my appetite (and mood) until J’s lunch break, so that was a plus. If I were to purchase this myself tho, I think I’d want to try the Chocolate flavor one.
Can’t wait to use the other Hormel products!
I’ve partnered with Hormel Foods as part of their Extended Family Blogger Program. While Hormel Foods provides me material and necessary resources to complete various activities, all statements and sentiment in GirlPlusFood.com are my own!
